Beyond Sunday
“Embracing the Resurrected Life” (April 27th)
When it comes to your new life in Christ, resurrected life, do you tend to think more about improving your behavior and avoiding bad actions, or do you focus on how to love more like Jesus loves and lives?
Before the resurrection, the disciples were running and hiding from fear of what may happen to them. After the resurrection they were in the middle of the town sharing their faith.
Before the resurrection, the disciples were running and hiding from fear of what may happen to them. After the resurrection they were in the middle of the town sharing their faith.
The disciples moved from a people of doubt to being able to stand amongst the very people that had Jesus killed.
At one point Peter denied Jesus three times, but then when see him rejoicing because he had been beaten for sharing the Gospel of Jesus with others.
At one moment we see the disciples have locked themselves in a room and the next moment they are walking out of prison gates opened by angels.
Over a period of just. A few weeks we see the disciples move from question on what there life looked like and where they will go to being led exactly into the place where they are supposed to be.
Of the five "BIG CHANGES" listed above and shared on Sunday, which do you think are the easiest? Which are the most difficult?
Which of the “Big Changes” have you experienced from others in your life?
Which of the “Big Changes” are you currently experiencing growth in, and in which of them would you like to grow more?
The 2 Game Changers: The Holy Spirit and Obedience. We tend to make the disciples superhuman when it comes to their faith, but in reality they were no different from you and me. They shared the same Holy Spirit that we do, and they had to make choices to obey what God was calling them to.
Why do you think we tend to Avenger-ize or make the early disciples seem so “beyond” us as followers of Christ?
What does living in the power of the Holy Spirit look like?
In what ways is God calling you to obey Him on your personal journey?
