1. Why do you think God gave Adam and Eve a command in the Garden?
Read: Genesis 2:16–17
"And the Lord God commanded the man, 'You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil...'"
Discuss:
What does this command reveal about God's character?
How is God's guidance still an expression of His love today?
2. What lies about God do people still believe today?
Read: Genesis 3:1–7
"Did God really say...?"
Discuss:
Why was the serpent's question so powerful?
What are some common lies that cause people to doubt God's goodness?
How can we recognize and resist those lies?
3. What amazes you most about God's love?
Read: Romans 5:8 and John 3:16
"But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8)
Discuss:
Why is it significant that Jesus died for us while we were still sinners?
How does knowing you are deeply loved by God change the way you see yourself?
4. What does it really mean to trust Jesus?
Read: Matthew 26:39
"Yet not as I will, but as you will."
Discuss:
How did Jesus model complete trust in the Father?
What's the difference between knowing about Jesus and trusting Him?
Is there an area of your life where God is inviting you to trust Him more?
5. How does the resurrection change everything?
Read: Luke 24:6 and 2 Corinthians 5:17
"He is not here; he has risen!" (Luke 24:6)
"If anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!" (2 Corinthians 5:17)
Discuss:
Why is the resurrection essential to our faith?
What does it mean to become a "new creation"?
How has Jesus brought new life into your story?
6. Can you explain the Gospel in one minute?
Read: Romans 10:9–10
Practice using the four symbols:
